Position: Laboratory Technician - Diagnostic Immunology
Client: Healthcare Client
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Duration: 6-month CTH
Shift: M-F 2pm-11:30pm
Overview:
- The duties of this position includes but is not limited to accurate, precise, and timely patient test results for the diagnosis and management of human illness.
- Position utilizes automation and computerization, and manual methods.
- Responsible for quality control and instrument operation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
- May be involved in teaching and training, but not in a leadership position.
- Position handles blood, tissue, fecal matter, sputum, urine, spinal fluid and other body fluids. Specimens may be contaminated with infectious diseases including HIV and other blood borne pathogens.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution. Or an Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science.
- Prefer American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certified. As of June 1, 2015: if not certified, must be eligible for verification as a Technologist by an approved agency. Certification exam must be completed within 3 years of hire date.
