Description The Leidos Corporate Tax Department is seeking an Indirect Tax Accountant to join our team of tax professionals supporting our Corporate Office located in Reston, VA.This is a hybrid position that requires 2-3 days onsite work from Reston - VA. Selected candidate is expected to live within commuting distance to Reston - VA.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist and support state & local tax audits by gathering transaction details, preparing workpapers, and developing arguments for submission to the tax authoritiesGather and analyze data from various systems for reverse sales & use tax auditsGather and analyze data from various systems to identify tax risk based on program performance locationsResearch state & local tax issues and prepare guidance for internal customersGather and analyze data from various systems to prepare state & local tax workpapersPrepare and enter journal entriesAssist the tax team with data gathering and data processing from sources such as the general ledger, contract database and other financial systemsAssist with creating Excel models for various transactions / scenariosAssist in state & local tax planning and execution for programs in a variety of industries (Federal Govt, Transportation, Construction, Health)Assist in resolving state & local tax noticesAssist with resale and exemption certificate requestsAssist with ad hoc projects related to indirect taxREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor s Degree in Accounting or related degree with 2+ years of accounting experience in either corporate or public accounting.Exceptional project management skills are required, with proactive process improvement experience.Exceptional verbal and written communication skillsStrong accounting skills, including demonstrated ability in account reconciliationsStrong computer and technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft ExcelFlexible with strong judgment and decision-making skillsAble to prioritize workload in order to meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced work environmentStrong attention to detail, yet understand and apply the degree of accuracy necessary for the task at handMust be comfortable with virtual communications and working with geographically disparate groupsOrganized and demonstrate ability to complete complex tasks and projects requiring independent initiativePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with Deltek Costpoint and Hyperion (or similar systems) are a plusEnergetic and have a high sense of urgency while working on projectsA quick learner who is willing to take on new challenges and rolesA high level of confidence, detail orientation, integrity, self-motivation, and a hands-on approach to problem solvingSelf-starter, creative, team player, and positive attitudePlease note that we're budgeting a salary that's closer to the midpoint of the pay range.Original Posting Date:2024-04-18While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.Pay Range:Pay Range $55,250.00 - $99,875.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
