SeniorTax Accountant

This position willcontribute to the timely preparation, review, and filing of federal/state/local income and franchise tax returns, sales and use tax returns, schedules, extensions, and estimates. Join the Dart team today!Dart employees enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule, working 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.The Dart family of privately held companies, which includes Dart Container Corporation and Dart Interests, utilizes Dart Finance Shared Services (DFSS) to deliver specialized tax, treasury, risk management and internal audit services to Dart affiliated entities through a highly cross-functional and cooperative work environment. As this position is within DFSS, the successful candidate s responsibilities with Dart will span several different industries including hospitality, manufacturing, real estate management and development among other industries.Day to Day Role:Prepare and file required federal, state, and local income and franchise tax returns for assigned companies, which include preparing supporting workpapers and schedules and monitoring tax calendarPrepare and file required federal, state, and local estimates and extensions for assigned companiesPrepare sales and use tax returns for assigned companiesCommunicate with Accounting, Treasury, and other departments with any questions relating to assigned companiesReview fixed assets and prepare necessary tax depreciation reportsPrepare and review supporting schedules for tax provisions included in the financial statements for assigned companiesPrepare and review response to federal and state tax notices or audits for assigned companiesAssist with other projects within Tax department or across departments as neededExpand tax knowledge and maintain certification by completion of continuing educationCompile data to support audit responses and requests for information from taxing authoritiesAssist with technology and data initiatives designed to drive efficiency and streamline reportingSupport research of tax compliance and planning mattersCore Skills and Qualifications:Bachelor s degree with an emphasis in accounting, finance or related field of studyCredential with unlimited representation rights before the IRS (CPA, Juris Doctorate or Enrolled Agent)Two (2) years of public accounting experience in a minimum of three of the following areas: C Corporation, S Corporation, individual tax, Partnership or TrustExperience with ProSystem Fx, CorpTax or equivalent tax preparation softwareExperience with tax research software and tax provision softwareExcellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes to internal and external customersAbility to analyze data, note issues and develop possible solutions to problemsAbility to exercise independent judgment and decision makingPreferred Skills and Qualifications:Master s degree with an emphasis in taxation or related field of studyExperience with Alteryx, Microsoft Power BI or other data reporting toolsExperience in sales and use tax
