Overview

The Summit at Snoqualmie, located in Washington, is conducting a search to identify an experienced Human Resources Director or depending upon candidate experience, a Vice President level executive leader.

This position plays a vital role in creating a high-level experience for our teams, our guests, and is a member of the resort s senior leadership team. This position reports to the General Manager of the resort.

Responsibilities

The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this classification and are not all-inclusive of the specific position.

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates for various positions within the resort.
  • Manage seasonal and year-round staffing needs, including hiring and onboarding processes.
  • Work with the General Manager, directors and resort department managers to set staffing goals, determine department specific recruiting strategies and create and maintain staffing plans throughout the year.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment by addressing team member concerns and assist in resolving conflicts.
  • Develop an engaging culture; coordinate and deliver both seasonal orientation and management training programs annually, as well as working with departments to facilitate training when needed.
  • Maintain updated personnel and payroll files through proper onboarding and offboarding processes and regular upkeep.
  • Budget for department expenses and keep accurate records of bills and payments.
  • Lead and Manage HR department including developing team members and supporting their needs to succeed and learn.
  • Maintain regular contact with all other resort department managers regarding team member performance management, compensation, benefits, recruitment and retention, company policies and procedures, and employment law compliance. Also organize the management training on these topics.
  • Drive performance appraisal and feedback and provide guidance to department managers on performance evaluations.
  • Assist in compensation administration, including preparation of job descriptions, conducting market comparisons, updating wage ranges as needed and evaluating incumbent pay levels.
  • Manage the administration of team member Communication programs, including preparation of e-newsletter articles, conducting focus groups and team member surveys.
  • Oversee the administration of team member benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other incentives and perks.
  • Develop and implement team member engagement initiatives to boost morale and job satisfaction.
  • Ensure resort compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with safety officers to implement and enforce safety protocols.
  • Maintain HR policies and procedures in line with industry, company standards and legal requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years related HR management experience and/or training.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations including knowledge of OSHA and L&I.
  • Always act with the utmost level of integrity.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to accept responsibility and the ability to work independently with only general direction.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential material.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills, be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet required deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Proven track record leading and developing an HR team.
  • Ability to communicate and relate effectively with a very diverse group of team members.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays during the winter season when necessary.
  • Previous experience in ICIMS is preferred.
  • Previous experience in NAV or UKG payroll systems is preferred.

Wage and Benefit Info:

The wage range for this position, from $100,000 to $135,000 annually DOE

This position is elgible for goal attainment incentives

Benefits include: health, dental, vision

Team member will accrue PTO and will earn 2+ weeks or more in a 12 month period.

All individuals may contribute to the 401(k). An employee must work 1,000 hours in a calendar year to qualify for the discretionary match (there is a 2 year vesting cliff).

All individuals accrue sick time at 1 hour per 40 hours worked to a maximum of 64 hours per year.
