In-Park Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency andnon-emergency medical care to team members and guests in accordance withestablished protocols.
  • Triage patients when multiplecalls or patients overwhelm available personnel; make appropriatedeterminations about dispositions and transports.
  • Perform drug and alcohol screenson team members in accordance with park policies.
  • Accurately and legibly completerequired documentation.
  • Complete checks on bags,vehicles, and treatment areas before, during, and after each shift;restock supplies as necessary.
  • Answer calls for emergencyassistance via telephone and radio.
  • Maintain a clean work area;perform basic cleaning of First Aid facilities (mop floors, vacuumcarpets, empty trash cans, wipe down counters and beds.)
  • Complete safety ride auditssafety inspections at direction of Safety Manager.
  • Maintain a professionalrelationship with guests and team members.
  • Attend all required trainingincluding Park Discovery and Department training sessions.
  • Adhere to all park labor policiespertaining to breaks taken, length of shift and types of work performed.

    • Maintain proper grooming anduniform guidelines at all times.
    • Follow and enforce all parkpolicies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner at all times.
    • Must have strong teamwork skillsand the ability to work well with others.
    • Excellent communication skillsto interact effectively with Guest, other Team Members, and leadership.
    • Ability to handle multipleprojects, while paying close attention to details.
    • Use efficient time management tocomplete required tasks and projects.


Physical Requirements

    • Frequent standing, walking,sitting, and reaching.
    • Ability to lift and carry up to80 lbs; ability to push and pull up to 150 lbs.
    • Occasional running, climbing,balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, and crawling.
    • Ability to work in all weatherconditions, including extreme cold and heat, as well as high levels ofhumidity and rain, occasionally for extended periods.
    • Ability to work occasionally inconfined spaces and from high elevations.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have a high school diplomaor equivalent.
  • Must hold a current IllinoisDepartment of Public Health (I.D.P.H) Emergency Medical Technician BasicLicense; Wisconsin License or National Registry License must meetreciprocity requirements with I.D.P.H.
  • Must hold a current AmericanHeart Association BLS for the Healthcare Provider CPR/AED certification.
  • Must possess a current and validDrivers License.
  • Must meet Region 1 system entryrequirements through OSF St. Anthony Medical Center.
  • Strong written and verbalcommunications.
  • Knowledge of and ability to useall BLS equipment used in the park (pulse oximeter, glucometer, stairchair, etc).
  • Ability to handle moderate levelsof stress related to high workload.
  • Safety awareness and generalhousekeeping.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptto changes in working environment.
  • Available to work flexible hoursincluding nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be professional,self-motivated and have an enthusiastic attitude.
  • Must have strong teamwork skillsand ability to work with others.
  • Must possess strong work ethicand the ability to multi task.
