Architectural Designer - Truss Design

- Design wooden roof & floor trusses that meet the structural requirements and specifications of residential, agricultural, and commercial building projects
- Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and construction teams to integrate trusses into broader building designs seamlessly
- Analyze the truss components to optimize the designs for cost-efficiency & durability, meeting building codes and standards
- Solve complex structural problems on truss designs for clients, contractors, and internal teams
- Prepare & present detailed design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and structural analysis for project planning
- Meet all project deadlines and budget requirements, making adjustments as necessary to meet project goals

Precision Truss is looking for a full-time Architectural Designer to join our team. Our Designers specialize in the creation and detailed drafting of wood roof & floor trusses for various agricultural, residential, and commercial building projects. This role transforms structural engineering concepts into viable, practical designs.

Our Ideal Architectural Designer
- Experienced: 1+ years of truss design experience required. Thorough understanding of building codes, standards, and regulations relevant to residential, agricultural, and commercial construction.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and CAD software is preferred. Previous experience using Alpine Drafting software is a plus.
- Customer-oriented: Ready to serve our customers reasonably, graciously, and friendly in a way that builds loyalty.
- Relational: Able to collaborate with various people within the company and with customers. Enjoys being part of a creative team and exchanging ideas & information in writing and verbally.
- Knowledgeable: Driven to continuously update your knowledge of industry trends, materials, and construction techniques relevant to wooden truss design.
- Adaptable: Able to manage & prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- Problem-Solver: Someone with keen attention to detail and strong analytical skills to revise detailed truss plans according to a customer's needs.
- Efficient: Design trusses to reduce material costs and production time, providing our customers with a quality product at a reasonable price.
