Position Overview: This teaching position entails instructional and planning responsibilities for providing Engineering education to students. DCI's engineering program follows the standards set by e4usa, a consortium of industry experts and college professors. Introductory classes focus on the engineering-design process in general, with the entire class engaging in the same design challenge. Later classes allow students to pick particular engineering challenges and work in separate groups. Students are graded according to their engineering portfolios and on how well their products perform.

Salary Range: $63,113 - $105,575 (Starting salary is determined by education and years of relevant experience)

Qualifications:

  • A Master's Degree in secondary education or this content area is preferred (Bachelor's Degree is required).
  • Previous experience teaching in this content area is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to use multiple technology platforms to guide instruction and communicate with students and families and comfort communicating using G Suite tools, including Gmail, is preferred

Essential Attributes:
  • A minimum of 2 years in an educational setting
  • Familiarity with the engineering-design process in general.
  • Experience either teaching engineering or with some form of engineering from industry.
  • Ability to align Engineering curriculum to targeted industry certification exams.
  • Robotics experience a plus as that creates a natural connection with our IT pathway and our after-school robotics programming.
  • Ability to market Engineering and CP Programme to students, staff, parents, and business community.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment.
