Job Title: Billing Specialist
Pay: $22.00-$24.50/hour (based upon experience)
Duration: 6-months with possibility of extension
Schedule: Monday Friday // 8am-4:30pm
Location: Hybrid - Tampa, FL
Join our team as a Billing Specialist, where you'll play a vital role in managing medical billing functions and providing essential administrative support to our Billing and Collections department. Responsibilities include preparing invoices, reconciling billing with accounts receivables, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes, modifiers, and encounter data.
- Perform electronic claims submission and ensure timely processing of primary and secondary claims.
- Analyze billing discrepancies and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Review insurance claim forms for accuracy, make necessary corrections, and ensure compliance with Medicare and Medicaid guidelines.
- Communicate with customers and payers regarding billing issues, outstanding balances, and payment requirements.
- Conduct quality checks on data entries and provide training to colleagues on billing procedures and systems.
Must-Have Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of related job experience.
- CMC, CPC-A Certification.
- Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with business billing office duties.
Preferred Requirements:
- CPC Certification.
- Previous coding experience.
- Experience with HMO/managed care, Medicare, and healthcare management systems.
- Bilingual proficiency is preferred.
Education:
- High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent.
- Some college education is preferred.
