About this opportunity:

Cenovus Energy is looking for an experienced Paralegal to support its growing U.S. legal team in Dublin, Ohio. As a Paralegal you will be an integral part of the team, providing support to our attorneys on a wide array of complex legal matters such as litigation, corporate contracts, environmental compliance, and labor and employment issues. What you'll do:

  • Monitor case dockets and calendar key dates and deadlines.
  • Assist attorneys in preparation for and during witness interviews, including tasks such as comprehensive notetaking.
  • Research statutes and regulations in support of legal compliance matters
  • Monitor regulatory developments.
  • Attend and arrange meetings, drafting minutes as necessary.
  • Help maintain legal department calendars through Outlook and Teams
  • Review and process legal invoices for payment
  • Perform administrative tasks, special projects, and overflow assignments as requested.


Who you are:

  • High school diploma required.
  • 5+ years of work experience as a paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department


Preferred:
  • Bachelor's or associate degree from an accredited college or university preferred
  • Paralegal certification preferred.
  • Current license as a notary public or willingness to obtain a license.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
  • Proficiency in using file transfer programs such as SecureShare
  • Experience using legal research resources like LexisNexis and/or Westlaw preferred.
  • Excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments.
  • Must demonstrate good professional judgment.
