Our Ecoservices division is on the hunt for a Production Supervisor to be based in our Dominguez, CA plant.

  • The base salary range for this position in as for the job description criteria as listed is $100,000 to $112,000 annually.
  • Our salary ranges are determined by market data based on position and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum salaries for that position. Where an individual's pay falls within the range is determined by factors including, but not limited to, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
  • In some cases, compensation may fall outside of this range depending on factors, including a candidate's qualification, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.

This position is accountable for the day-to-day safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the site and is responsible for the Operations departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Development and training of Operators and Head Operators including the use of comprehensive written, oral and digital lesson plans.
  • Preparation and communication of procedures and other documented work practices.
  • Supervision of team members to ensure operational activities are completed.
  • Recordkeeping of operator timesheet, vacation, absences and scheduling.
  • Safe operation of the plant within the guidelines established for operation.
  • Collaboration amongst the Operations and Logistics teams in supporting the determination of production rates and inventory levels.
  • Support of operational equipment needs by liaising with the maintenance department.
  • First line management of labor relations as dictated by Articles of Agreement between the company and the union represented workforce.

HSES RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervisors have responsibility for the area under their jurisdiction, including but not limited to: HSES, Quality, Emergency Response, relevant OTJ training, and issuing routine permits. Perform supervisory audits as needed.
  • Set and maintain HSES expectations and hold people accountable for their safety performance using both positive feedback and feedback for improvement.
  • Take ownership of their areas to ensure working conditions and housekeeping are up to high standards.
  • Perform observations to ensure employees and contractors are working safely and complying with Company HSES and PSM policies and procedures.
  • Review and write permits in the field to ensure proper completion from a thoroughness and documentation standpoint and use those opportunities to promote safe work practices.
  • Emphasize safety in daily contacts with personnel. Recognize and reinforce good safety behaviors.
  • Be knowledgeable of and comply with all applicable site, corporate and regulatory safety and environmental requirements.
  • Attend and actively participate in safety meetings and complete all applicable safety training as required.
  • Properly inspect, use and maintain necessary PPE in accordance with site procedures and matrices.
  • Hold regular safety meetings with your employees and include feedback on incidents and the safety performance of your team, plant, and the enterprise.
  • Must perform environmental inspection and review of their areas.
  • Provide leadership to see that all their reports are participating in the monthly HSES training program, safety meetings, safety reviews and other measures.
  • Responsible for making and implementing recommendations to resolve HSES issues.
  • Be fully knowledgeable and trained on all safety procedures, especially life critical actions, and serve as guarantor over implementation of them in your area of responsibility.
  • Ensure incident reports are initiated in a timely fashion and actively participate in the investigations, identifying root causes, immediate corrective actions and appropriate measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Encourage open discussion of safety concerns in the area and then follow through to a timely resolution with feedback from the employees.
  • Ensure appropriate procedures are written and kept current for their area and the personnel are trained, understand, and follow the procedures. Review and update additional Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as requested by Unit Production Manager.
  • Be observant and directly address any safety and environmental issues seen, with any employee, contractor or visitor.
  • Ensure MOC s are executed for process changes in your area, and that those changes are communicated, understood and followed by your personnel.
  • Ensure all training requirements are met in your area of responsibility and initiate corrective action with delinquent personnel.
  • Identify HSES improvement opportunities within operations and support in implementation.
  • Ensure waste is properly labeled in compliance with local regulations. '

ReRequirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree(GED).
  • Five years of manufacturing plant experience, preferably in refinery or chemical manufacturing plant.
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
  • Effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective safety attitude and understanding of safe work practices.
  • People, coaching, coordinating, and facilitating experience/skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills including but notlimited to SAP, MS Office
  • Must be able to wear a full-face respirator.
  • Must be able to demonstrate troubleshooting skills.
