Principal L6 (highest level) Software Engineer to join as a full-time employee at a company I am collaborating with. This company is creating a top-tier streaming data platform for developers. They're taking streaming beyond Apache Kafka into a unified "engine of record." This means simpler complexity, super-fast performance, onboard Wasm transforms, and clear tiered storage. With this, users can easily access both real-time and historical data through just one API.
100% Remote Position (Must be EAST COAST based)! No exceptions!
Compensation Range: 210,000-275,000 base

Required Experience:
- Extensive software engineering experience in C++ (ideally modern C++17 or C++20)
- Experience with Distributed Systems and Distributed Storage
- Experience working with systems either open source (Ceph, Kudo, Cassandra) or proprietary (high-scale cloud backend systems)
- Knowledge of consistency models in distributed systems
- Experience using or building consensus protocols
- Knowledge of CAP theorem
Preferred but not Required:
- Experience working at a pre-IPO B2B SaaS company

- Contribute adeptly to coding and ensuring cohesion in design across multiple sizable projects.
- Lead the establishment of technical direction, driving the achievement of technical goals aligned with business objectives.
- Excel in actively contributing to multiple intricate projects as a lead.
- Provide guidance for both tactical and strategic investments.
- Mentor, Hire and Advise more junior members of the organization
- Communicate effectively, influencing cross-functional leadership, including their CEO, and fostering collaboration.
