Role Summary:
The SoftwarevQuality Systems Engineer, Sr. reports to the Sr. Manager, Software Quality Assurance and is responsible for overseeing quality of Electrify Americas product portfolio, including DC Fast Chargers (DCFC) and L2 electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE).In this role the Quality Systems Engineer needs to have extensive experience in driving quality efforts with external vendors and internal stakeholders, determining root cause and corrective actions.The candidate will work with Electrify Americas service operations team to determine trends with product performance and quality issues and then work with vendors to drive quality issues to closure.A strong understanding of electromechanical products with embedded firmware/software controlled by a cloud-based backend is critical for this role. The candidate will manage the quality program for multi-million-dollar product lines.
In this role, the candidate will be responsible and accountable for the uptime of Electrify Americas assets.She/he will play a critical role in ensuring that Electrify Americas customers (B2B and B2C) have a best in class experience by driving improvements on hardware quality and software performance.Their ability to track issues, determine trends and deliver results through vendor performance will play a critical role for consumers to refuel their vehicles.
Role Responsibilities:
Main responsibility Lead Software Quality Assurance Teams 50%
Lead product quality (40%)

  • Provide technical expertise in root cause analysis and development of corrective actions to quality problems.
  • Develop innovate solutions and recommendations to internally and externally to solve problems
  • Use statistical techniques such as design of experiments (DoE), Gage R&R, and Six Sigma
  • Work directly with suppliers, create corrective action plans and effectively resolve identified issues
Provide technical support for Electrify America service operations team (30%)
  • Develop deep domain expertise of Electrify Americas products
  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on technical issues
  • Develop fault trees and training guides to assist in root cause field issues
Lead supplier engagement for product quality (20%)
  • Host weekly pacing calls with vendors on open quality issues
  • Develop and maintain vendor scorecards in conjunction with internal stakeholders
Support testing and validation of end to end systems (10%)

Years Of Relevant Experience:
  • 7 - 10 years of relevant experience with m inimum 5 years experience in managing quality product development programs involving multiple stakeholders (internal resources and external suppliers)
Education (Required):
  • Bachelors in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer)
Education (Desired):
  • Masters in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer)

Work Flexibility:
  • This role will require the candidate to be onsite regularly in our Center of Excellence test lab in Ashburn, VA as well as our headquarters in Reston, VA.
  • This role will require occasional travel
