General Manager - The Blake Hotel

SUMMARY:


The General Manager (GM) is responsible for all aspects of operations at The Blake Hotel. The GM serves as an ambassador for the brand and hotel, leading all departments of the hotel to further the hotel s goal of providing best-in-class service to guests. The GM oversees the hotel s profitability and leads various strategic projects across all departments of the hotel. The ideal candidate is someone who consistently goes above and beyond to maximize guest satisfaction. This position reports to the Regional Director of Operations at RMS Companies.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Oversees the operations of all functions and departments of the hotel.
  • Holds regular briefings and meetings with heads of all departments and oversees all hotel employees daily.
  • Ensures full compliance with hotel service standards, policies, and procedures as outlined by upper management.
  • Handles complaints of guests and oversees the service recovery procedures.
  • Assists in preparing and achieving the hotel's annual operating budget and capital budget.
  • Manages ongoing profitability of the hotel while ensuring guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded.
  • Assists in setting short- and long-term strategic goals for the property and oversee implementation of such goals.
  • Ensures all decisions are made in the best interests of the hotel, staff, and larger company/brand.
  • Assists in the procurement of operating supplies and equipment and contracts with third-party vendors for essential equipment and services.
  • Serves as decision maker in hiring key staff for the hotel.
  • Manages and develops the hotel s management team to ensure career progression and development.
  • Accountable for responsibilities of department heads and takes ownership of all guest complaints.
  • Works closely with restaurant leadership and sales teams to ensure flawless execution of banquets and events.


REQUIREMENTS


  • At least 5 years experience in the hospitality industry preferred.
  • Bachelor s degree in hotel management or a related field preferred.
  • A strong understanding of P&L statements and the ability to react with impactful strategies.
  • The ideal candidate is a highly intelligent hotel professional with outstanding management skills and extensive hands-on experience. Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
