Payroll Specialist


Job Details

Our client, a leader in the pharmaceutical industry, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team.

**This job is hybrid - 3 days a week in Salt Lake City, Utah**
**W2 Only**

Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Processing: Manage and process bi-weekly or monthly payroll cycles, including the calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions. Ensure accuracy in data entry and payroll calculations.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, including federal, state, and local taxes, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. Reconcile and resolve any tax discrepancies.
  • Benefits Administration: Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other deductions. Coordinate and verify benefit contributions and deductions.
  • Payroll Reporting: Generate and distribute payroll reports to management, HR, and finance teams as needed. Prepare payroll-related reports for auditing and compliance purposes.
  • Compliance and Record keeping: Stay updated on federal and state labor laws and regulations related to payroll and ensure company compliance. Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records.
  • Employee Inquiries: Address employee inquiries related to payroll, tax with holdings, and benefits promptly and professionally. Aid with payroll-related forms and documentation.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve payroll processes, recommending changes and automation when appropriate. Ensure payroll procedures align with best practices.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
  • Excel, Multiple US State, Payroll Processing, UltiPro experience
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role, including hands-on experience with payroll software and systems.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive payroll information.
