We have a strong emphasis on civil work for sports fields and work on private sector and light industrial projects.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Earthwork Operator/Laborer. The Earthwork Operator/Laborer will be responsible for operating heavy equipment and performing various earthwork tasks on various construction/excavation projects. The day-to-day tasks may include excavation, grading, site preparation, field maintenance, installing underground utilities, setting grade string lines and checking grade. The role requires working collaboratively with the project team and following safety protocols, operating GPS and Laser systems, and performing labor tasks onsite.
Qualifications
- Experience operating heavy equipment for earthwork
- Knowledge of excavation, grading, and site preparation techniques
- Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications
- Understanding of safety protocols and regulations
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to perform various earthwork laboring tasks when necessary
- Ability to utilize GPS systems
- Ability to set grade with a laser
- Ability to install underground utility applications per plan/specification
Relevant certifications and previous experience in the construction industry would be beneficial.
