* Any combination of training and experience equivalent to an Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education and two years of experience in a clerical/office support role.

* Demonstrated experience using a personal computer, office software such as MS Office and electronic mail. Ability to master Ellucian system.

* Requires successful completion of a background check.

* Demonstrated ability to:

o Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

o Establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public.

o Work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Associate's degree.

* Work experience in the area of records, student services or related area at an institution of higher education.

* Knowledge of the college curriculum, requirements and regulations, course sequences and degree requirements.

* Work experience with nontraditional, first generation, and high school students.

* Experience using an enterprise-wide integrated student information system such as Ellucian.

* Understanding of FERPA and other laws and regulations related to student records.

Summary of Duties:

The Records Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining and updating student records, supporting documenting imaging, and assisting with commencement related activities. This position provides front-line services for the Office of the Registrar by assisting with the office's day-to-day operations and providing excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff. This position is expected to apply professional concepts to support the management of student records within the student information system and interpret relevant college policies and state/federal regulations such as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) to ensure regulatory compliance and protection of student data.

Location: Newark Work Hours:

20 Hours per week. Schedule may vary. Occasional evenings and weekends are require for student events.
