About the role

The Plant Manager for the Montebello, California facility supervises and coordinates activities of this key Vinegar plant. Responsible for production, personnel management, regulatory compliance, inventory management, transportation and delivery of product to marketplace, Capital expenditures, continuous improvement, recordkeeping and benchmarking.


Key responsibilities

1. Coordinate with Corporate for production schedule, inventory planning and reporting.

2. Monitor Federal, State and local laws and regulations and ensure plant compliance (in coordination with Corporate). Maintain permits, reports and other legal documents related to the plant legal compliance.

3. Supervise all plant capital expenditures and oversee all spending and reporting to Corporate.

4. Develop and maintain plant operating budget, product standard cost and other plant accounting as required.

5. Coordinate with Corporate HR department to manage all plant personnel issues.

6. Direct supervision to the plant superintendent (plus vacation relief):

7. Monitor all plant activities on fermentation, filtration, transfer and storage operations and schedule activities to fit within plant staffing guidelines and product requirements.

8. Monitor and oversee all operations to ensure compliance with Plant Quality Assurance Programs

9. Support Plant Zero Defects Quality Program.

10. Maintain record keeping in accordance with current quality assurance requirements.

11. Ensure customer product, service necessities, and shipping forms requirements are met.

12. Monitor inventory levels of all critical raw materials and place orders in a timely manner to insure smooth operation and storage utilization.

13. Proper supervision and preparation of Plant inventory and closing records required.

14. Perform necessary accounting entries to record production and inventory on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

15. Schedule and reconcile daily pumping operations and records to maximize plant operating efficiency and avoid delays due to traffic in shared pipelines and processing equipment.

16. Ensure all pumping and production records are properly entered to allow product tracking and recall procedures.

17. Perform lab analysis and equipment calibration, as required, to accomplish plant operating objectives.

18. Oversight, maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment necessary.

19. Supervise coordination of truck loading and scheduling activities with all carriers and ensure the necessary specialty products are available when required for loading.

20. Schedule, coordinate and oversee normal maintenance functions required for the plant.

21. Strong mechanical skills, background and the ability to trouble shoot, program, and maintain electronic controls required for job functions and planning and executing plant capital projects.

22. Familiarity with electrical processes and circuitry including installation, operation and maintenance is needed.

23. Other duties as required and requested by Corporate.


Qualifications and skills

EDUCATION: A four-year college degree in a technical field (Engineering, Biology, Microbiology, Food Science etc.) or business and administration field is required.

EXPERIENCE: 8-15 years' experience in food or related manufacturing is required. Leadership experience that includes managing continuous 24x7 operations strongly preferred.

SKILLS:

Lean Six Sigma experience and certification strongly preferred.

Aptitude to learn fermentation and mechanical/electrical plant systems.


Compensation Data

The typical hiring range for this role is $105,129 to $159,134 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
