- We are currently looking for aLogistics Team Leader to guide and grow a team to be effective and efficient in all aspects of the shipping process. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping meet daily and weekly metrics for the team. These goals measure the team's effectiveness of timely and accurate shipments while ensuring proper communication to all parties involved. The candidate will be expected to have a hands-on approach and support their team in day-to-day tasks when needed. Previous experience with process improvement, training and decreasing waste in processes would be beneficial in this role.

We are 100% focused on the Caribbean, with a team that is knowledgeable with respect to the region, brand development, distribution, logistics and export requirements. Our group s ownership of both distribution and 50 plus retail supermarkets throughout many of the key Caribbean markets allows for quick commercialization of products.
As an Export Logistic Team Lead, some key points related to this job and the responsibilities include:
- Preparations of import and/or export documents for ocean and/or air shipments
- Preparation of SED s
- Ensure that all Import/Export permits and certificates are in order
- Coordination of export docs like FDA certificates
- Managing bonded product.
- Ability to successfully supervise a small team
- When issues occur, to find out root cause and take corrective action.
- Strong Excel skills
- Ensure KPIs are met and maintained
- To manage discussions with vendors, customers, and shipping lines
Skills/Qualifications/Education:
What it takes to be successful in this role
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience with Logistics and export is required.
- Documentation experience within export is required.
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
- Successful history with leading and managing others.
- The ability to work in a very fast past and high stress working environment.
- Demonstrated aptitude for analyzing and interpreting data allowing for proposal/development of practical business solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, professional and courteous.
- Well organized with strong attention to detail.
- Expected to understand the importance of time management and to always be proactive
- Understand the importance of deadlines for shipments and have a successful track record of maintaining deadlines for shipments.
- Ability to have a constant sense of urgency.
