Job Description: Delaware Research Group is searching for a qualified candidate to join our team as an experienced Planner Estimator. The Incumbent Planner Estimator will provide technical coordination for planning, scheduling, and estimating functions for small projects on a military installation ranging from $2500 to over $1 million each.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Work with department manager to develop Statements of Work (SOWs) for potential projects.
  • Work with vendors and subcontractors to ensure full understanding of project requirements.
  • Obtain quotes in accordance with the company's procurement policy.
  • Provide real-time updates on project status.
  • Establish milestones, ensure projects are meeting those milestones, and provide contingency plans in the event the project falls behind.
  • Coordinate meetings with technical personnel for purposes of collecting and clarifying information and understanding job requirements.
  • Prepare presentations, graphic illustrations, and technical requirements for individual projects.
  • Prepare plan, schedule, and estimate summaries.
  • Track the material deliveries in accordance with schedule requirements.
  • Control expenditures within limitations of project budget.
  • Review and track change orders when new requirements are presented by the client or circumstance.
  • Ensure all vendor and subcontractor work is satisfactorily completed in accordance with the published SOW, contract, and governing regulations.
  • Work with client to ensure any remaining "punch list" items are completed and approved.
  • Work with Business Manager and Accountants to ensure revenue is recognized appropriately.
  • Provides interpretation for work order requests and other resources.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be fluent in English.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, federal and state safety and environmental regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
    • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers/employees and in a classroom or meeting environment.
  • Ability to apply mathematical principles.
    • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
    • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
    • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to interpret and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
  • Proficient knowledge of MAXIMO.
  • Must be self-motivated to complete tasks with little to no supervision.
