Electrical Systems Designer Intern

TechFlow has an immediate opportunity for a remote Electrical Systems Designer Intern to support our Energy and Mobility Solutions Team. The Electrical Systems Designer Intern will work directly with engineering staff to develop energy solutions for multiple clients, including DoD customers. Work will include supporting the design and integration of energy systems including energy storage, photovoltaic arrays, and microgrids. Gain valuable experience while building your engineering design skills!


This internship will have a 3-month duration with potential for extension into a part-time role, depending on volume of work.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Creates designs, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Performs work in accordance with budget and schedule under supervision.

Requirements


  • Rising Junior or Senior majoring in Electromechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related field.
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office (specifically Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Basic proficiency with AutoCAD
  • General Electrical Systems knowledge
  • Ability to track and complete tasks within quality and schedule requirements
  • Ability to effectively communicate, provide updates, and engage team members in a professional environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Electrical Single-Line knowledge (Transformers / Panel Boards / PV Systems)
  • Electrical Conduit Sizing knowledge
  • Electrical Load Schedule knowledge
  • 3-D modeling experience (i.e. Revit, SketchUp)
