Fire Alarm Technician


Job Details

**Responsibilities**


+ Supervise all activities related to contract administration, change orders, submittals, procurement, schedule, and close out


+ Have thorough knowledge of all major project issues and priorities; prepare and submit monthly job status reports


+ Have thorough knowledge of the companys contracts and understanding of all parties involved


+ Secure all required permits and verify insurance coverage for subs


+ Schedule and facilitate all project meetings required to successfully coordinate work activity


+ Supervise and manage project team members; set goals and evaluate performance for team members


+ Train and develop direct reports utilizing on the job and internal and external training or development opportunities


+ Provide general administrative and technical leadership for the project


+ Maintain all project records and monitor correspondence


+ Develop and maintain positive working relationships with counterparts at owner and engineering firms


+ Participate in proposals and presentations as requested


+ Act as the primary contact with the fire alarm vendor in delivery of project

**Basic Qualifications**


+ 8+ years construction experience required


+ Undergraduate degree preferred in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar qualifying experience


+ Experience managing projects successfully from start to finish


+ Skilled at negotiating and developing relationships with owners and subcontractors


+ Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach and evaluate a team; minimum 4 years supervisory experience


+ Strong knowledge of electrical and fire alarm commercial construction


+ Knowledge of industry, state, and local code requirements


+ Ability to read and interpret all contract drawings such as Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing,


**Preferred Qualifications**


+ Graduate degree in engineering or business a plus


+ Working for an electrical contractor on large scale construction


+ DBIA and LEED Accreditation


+ Mass transit and rail, highway, water, aviation, or other infrastructure project experience


+ Fire Alarm NICET or related certification is desired
