LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a Real Estate Company seeking a Senior Property Accountant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property accounting and a keen understanding of leases and contracts. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage complex financial data efficiently. The Senior Property Accountant will utilize MRI software extensively and must be proficient in its use.
This role is onsite 5 days per week.
Candidate MUST be bilingual in Spanish.
Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze property leases and contracts to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage all aspects of property accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations of property accounts and investigate any discrepancies.
- Prepare and review financial statements for assigned properties in accordance with GAAP.
- Collaborate with property managers, leasing agents, and other stakeholders to address accounting-related inquiries and provide financial insights.
- Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis for properties under management.
- Support external audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to property accounting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, preferably in a real estate management or development company.
- Proficiency in MRI software a plus
- Strong understanding of lease structures and accounting principles related to real estate.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Compensation:
$85,000-$95,000
