POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the overall success of team and department with day-to-day emphasis in managing people, succession planning, job descriptions, strategy, budgeting, shrink and yield optimization. Exhibits communication leadership while working directly with supply, sales, logistics, distribution, and performance departments. Oversees ongoing production manager scheduling and personnel training.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Enforce all company policies and procedures
  • Prepare all paperwork required in a neat, legible and timely manner
  • Maintain an efficient and productive line of cooperation and communication with other departments and support group
  • Organize and update operating procedures in an on-going basis
  • Maintain a high level of morale in all areas of production by responding to employee needs, recognizing achievement and providing on-going training programs.
  • Meet and maintain all related company objectives and efficiency standards that pertain to: Pounds, cases per man hour, Yield, Safety, Sanitation, Quality, Product specification and Overtime.
  • Train an assistant to assume all related duties on days off, illness, vacation, or out of plant workdays.


RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Hiring new employees.
  • Disciplinary procedures.
  • Performance reviews and pay increases.
  • Assure that products produced are produced efficiently while maintaining the standards of quality set by the company.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

This position requires 2+ years of experience or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Fresh Foods/CPG Experience
  • Basic skill in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint
  • Leadership qualities (positively affect/influence others/delegate responsibility)
  • Possession of key competencies, including conflict management, business negotiation, organization and decision-making
  • Prepared to complete relevant training and certification provided or requested by the General manger
  • Efficient working knowledge of Food Plant Quality, HACCP, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP s)
  • Ability to follow complex verbal and written instruction and be able to work independently to evaluate and resolve Quality related problems and identify and communicate short term remedial actions.
  • Embodies a high level of problem-solving skills.


SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Frequently to constantly standing, walking
  • Occasionally to frequently bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling climbing
  • Occasionally carrying products 5 pounds to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally to frequently repetitive hand motions (i.e. Writing)
  • High degree of pressure to meet production schedules
  • Constant exposure to product fumes such as onions, peppers, etc.
  • Exposure to chemicals such as chlorine etc.
  • Constant exposures to varying degree of temperature 45 degrees or less.
  • Works overtime as required
  • Other duties as assigned.
