PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS - Full-time and Part-time and Perdiem


Roles & Responsibilities:


  • INTERNAL MEDICINE PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

Provide care for patients in collaboration with the physician and within the guidelines mutually agreed upon by clinical and medical administration.

Assesses patients needs and develops plan of care in collaboration with the physician

Provides health teaching, guidance and counseling

Makes appropriate referrals with the concurrence of the physician

Performs complete physical exams utilizing customary techniques

Orders diagnostic testing in collaboration with the physician

Orders medication in collaboration with physician

Working with Attending physicians to effectuate timely discharges, order tests, coordinate procedures and working with social workers and hospital staff to set up outpatient supplies/medications. Also includes direct admissions H &P, initial orders, and communication with family and attending. Performing daily rounds. May be required to perform other duties as assigned or perform other duties when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Masters, Graduate of an ARC-PA Accredited Physician Assistant Program, previous health related experience.
  • Professional, Courteous and respectful attitude in dealing with patients, families and staff
  • Required: all credentialing documents not limited to but including NYS PA registration and License, Diploma, ACLS, BCLS, PALS, NCCPA Certification through completion of national boards



  • SURGICAL PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

Assist surgical patients in the operating room, inpatient units, in accordance with the scope of defined privileges. Is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives and policies of the department and the Hospital

  • Provides all aspect of care to patients on assigned surgical service, in accordance with delineation of privileges
  • Performs complete admission histories and physical examinations
  • Assist with surgical procedure in the operating room
  • Perform daily rounds, write notes, discuss care plan with attending, house-staff physician on surgical patient
  • Follows surgical patients pre, and post operatively
  • Notifies changes in patient conditions and care plan changes to the physician.
  • Orders diagnostic tests as appropriate, interprets test results accordingly
  • Assesses patients needs and develops plan of care in collaboration with the physician
  • Provides health teaching, guidance and counseling
  • Performs patient care procedures as required
  • Working with Attending physicians to effectuate timely discharges
  • Assist in handling emergency situations that arise on surgical service
  • Assists in training and orienting
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned or perform other duties when necessary


Requirements:

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $53.46 - $71.09 HOURLY. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
