Robert Half Finance & Accounting is searching for an experienced Finance Manager on behalf of an established nonprofit organization in New Orleans, Louisiana!

The incoming Finance Manager will have fiscal oversight of the operation, including long term company financial planning, collaborative annual budgeting, forecasting, monthly financial statement preparation, and the creation of performance narratives for each business function (interpretation of financial data).

*** Interested candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years Nonprofit industry experience, including audit preparation and knowledge of regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fiscal oversight of company operation
  • Prepares long term financial plan for the organization
  • Produces financial forecasts as necessary in partnership with Director of Operations
  • Monitors all accounts, including funding, grants, and cash
  • Performs billing and invoicing procedures for vendor partners and customers
  • Direct oversight of one part-time employee, primarily focused on bookkeeping functions
  • Approves and submits payment requests for processing
  • Collaborates with each department to produce annual budget; monitors and updates budgets throughout the year
  • Credit card expense management, utilizing SAP Concur software
  • Implements financial parameters and fiscal fees for company Fiscal Sponsorship Program
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly financial reports and performance narratives for Board of Directors
  • Supervises external audit and preparation of 990 tax form
  • Tracks and manages individual donations; assists in financial reporting for grant reports and proposals
  • Serves as communication conduit between Finance and all other company stakeholders

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Accounting or Finance Degree - Preferred
  • 5 or more years of Nonprofit accounting and finance - Required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Nonprofit audit processes, budgeting, and financial projections
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate complex financial information in relatable terms for all company stakeholders
  • Extensive experience with QuickBooks accounting software or comparable financial systems
  • Advanced level expertise with Microsoft Excel
