Job Details
Purpose: Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in commercial or industrial establishments by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities:
- inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
- for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
- defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
- and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
- and maintains physical structure of establishment.

- up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.

Education & Experience:
Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalency. Technical (industrial equipment or engineering) associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Physical Requirements & Travel:
- required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.

- required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crawl, or crouch.

- lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- need to travel to other facilities within Louisville Metro
Work Environment
- exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
- exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; outside weather conditions; extreme heat; risk of radiation and vibration.
- noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
