Professional Sales Representative


Job Details

The growing Sales team at our esteemed organization is currently seeking a Sales Representative to spearhead the coordination of scaffold rental, erection, dismantlement services, and other access solutions and fall protection equipment. This pivotal role will be based at our Carlstadt, NJ branch and will encompass a territory spanning throughout the NYC metro area.

Responsibilities:

  • Generating sales leads by advocating the full range of scaffolding and motorized products/services, aligning with branch revenue and profitability objectives.
  • Thoroughly understanding customer requirements to craft proposals that precisely address their needs.
  • Cultivating robust relationships with customers through a proactive, outward-facing sales approach, embodying a Hunter mindset.
  • Coordinating engineering services pertinent to proposals, including blueprint review and estimating duties.
  • Presenting proposals to customers convincingly, adeptly addressing inquiries or objections to secure sales.
  • Negotiating terms of sale to optimize advantages for the company.
  • Orchestrating the sales, delivery, erection, and disassembly of scaffolding systems in line with customer requirements and branch financial goals.
  • Providing leadership and supporting Superintendents in directing job site work crews, ensuring adherence to customer requirements and job profitability.
  • Collaborating with construction job site management to ensure customer satisfaction and safe utilization of company products and services.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely billing for customers across all sales and/or rental transactions of scaffolding systems and related services.
  • Maintaining meticulous documentation of sales activities and associated expenses.
  • Managing a current and precise sales pipeline through the CRM interface (Salesforce).
  • Staying abreast of competitor sales efforts and programs within the branch territory.
  • Developing short-term and long-term new customer targets with actionable goals to secure their business within specified timeframes.
  • Conducting quarterly "Lunch and Learn" sessions with customers to bolster branch visibility

Qualifications:

  • Education equivalent to a High School diploma; an Associate s or bachelor s degree in Business or Sales and Marketing is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience.
  • Previous experience in the Construction industry, particularly with scaffolding systems or related equipment.
  • Possession of a valid driver s license and a demonstrated ability to operate a motor vehicle safely while adhering to traffic regulations.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills to effectively engage with customers, company personnel, and job site stakeholders, including delivering sales presentations and negotiating terms.
  • Proficiency in reviewing and processing critical customer information (blueprints, plans, specifications, etc.) to generate timely, accurate, and competitive bids.
  • Capability to process complex, time-sensitive data from multiple sources, make informed decisions based on this data, and communicate related actions effectively.
  • Previous military experience is advantageous.
  • Ability to remain stationary for at least 50% of the time and consistent movement for 100% of the time in this role.
  • Occasional ascending/descending of ladders/steps/hoists on job sites.
  • Proficiency in exchanging accurate information in all situations with customers and internal teams.
  • Keen observational skills to detect details at close range or further away on job sites.
  • Comfort with consistently working in outdoor weather conditions while meeting with customers on job sites.
