Research Operations Associate provides high level fiscal, procurement, and data collection support in the College of Medicine Office of Research under the direction of the Associate Director, Research Operations; assists in the creation of policies and procedures, including communicating changes to departments and centers within the hierarchy; provides information on OSU policies and procedures to faculty and staff; assists with communicating directives and initiatives; initiates requisition and expense system transactions for administrative staff; initiates and processes journal entries, inter-departmental billings, and fund transfers between departments; participates in reconciliation of general ledger and sponsored projects, which includes contacting departments, institutes and centers to identify University funding sources for overruns or unallowable grant expenditures as directed; participates in identifying and resolving discrepancies; monitors and resolves issues with requisition and expense transactions; reviews all transactions to ensure appropriateness of expense when submitting; partners with different members of the team to identify opportunities for improvement in processes and procedures; works closely with Grants Managers to assigns correct costing allocation; generates monthly and annual reports for leadership as requested; maintains all fiscal transaction records and files; participates in tracking service line statements of work and other contractual agreements for services rendered; assists in year-end closing of accounts and preparation of annual budget forecasts; assists with OSU and department-initiated audits; responsible for asset management process; provides administrative support to Research Operations Associate Director and Finance leaders; performs additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field or equivalent experience. Proficient communication and customer service skills.
