Scope:

The Fuel Supply Manager is responsible for managing fuel supply portfolios for customers. This position analyzes and advises customers on both fuel supply and transportation options leading to the lowest cost and most secure source of supply. You must have experience with fuel supplier and purchasing contracts. The position will assist our sales team by helping benchmark how prospective customers are buying fuel. Finally, the position is a central relationship manager for all the various fuel suppliers and common carriers with whom we interact.

Responsibilities:

  • Experience with fuel supplier and Purchasing contracts.
  • Understand product property requirement differences and marketing timing.
  • Recommends supply portfolio for customers.
  • Understands suppliers goals, objectives, infrastructure, geographic presence, volumes, and history.
  • Perform benchmark and analyze results on customers existing fuel business.
  • Assist the sales team by benchmarking how prospective customers are buying fuel.
  • Strong negotiator
  • Ability to manage relationships with multiple suppliers simultaneously.
  • Coordination of Supply in an efficient and profitable manner.
  • Communicate frequently with fuel suppliers to maintain good relations, drive innovation, maximize the impact of offer/promotion, and ensure uninterrupted supply.
  • Communicates supply issues including terminal outages, product availability, among others.
  • Provides correct terminal loading information to carriers for all suppliers at each terminal and updates any changes to the loading information.
  • Collaborates with carriers to solve logistics problems caused by short- and long-term supply disruptions caused by terminal maintenance, pipeline closures, etc.
  • Analyze supply markets to ensure competitiveness.
  • Monitor daily and weekly allocations by supplier to source allocated terminals to carriers.
  • Work with Freight carriers.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all relevant customer issues, pricing and billing procedures, and operational processes and procedures.
  • Assist to maintain existing business with wholesale fuel customers and current book of business as well as develop new business relationships with target customers to grow the business by bringing on new wholesale supplied sites/locations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in Fuel Supply
  • Strong in Microsoft office- managing database in Excel.
  • Experience working directly with suppliers and building relationships.
  • Travel up to 25%/ month
  • Must be able to exhibit a high level of responsibility, integrity, dependability, and stability.
  • Strong communication skills
