As the main point of contact for employees, the IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing company-wide virtual support and technical assistance with computer hardware and software.You ll partner on the daily functions of the IT department ensuring efficient operations while providing an outstanding employee experience. This role requires a keen eye for processes, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve computer hardware and software issues in a remote environment.ZBeta is a remote-first company with a distributed team. This role is open to individuals based in the United States, although preference will be given to candidates residing in Austin, TX.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesTechnical & Desktop Support : Promote a strong customer service ethic, ensuring timely and effective support to end users. Serve as the initial point of contact for all computer and system related concerns from employees via phone, email, or helpdesk tickets. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, make repairs, and perform maintenance.Asset Management:

Manage all equipment and perform periodic inventories as required. Build workstations using custom images or instructions as needed. Deploy, repair, test, and inventory software. Install, configure, and troubleshoot devices; utilize IT tools for remote management of laptops, track inventory, push patches and upgrades. Work with Talent & Culture to prepare equipment and systems for new hires and to collect hardware from separated employees.Train : Provide orientation and guidance to new employees on how to operate hardware and software. Identify, create, and maintain internal documentation and guides for IT services, such as how to use/manage Outlook, Microsoft Office, and other technologies.Administer:

Manage user access in AD, assisting with on-boarding and off-boarding as well as managing users and subscriptions in Microsoft 365 portal. Coordinate with vendors to resolve technical issues with hardware and software.Support:

Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and overall employee experience. Support IT Manager with various communications and projects.Requirements:

2+ years experience related to Help Desk and/or IT SupportExperience in the set-up, configuration, and use of computer hardware, software, and networksExcellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skillsStrong customer service orientation, a team player with the ability to establish collaborative working relationshipExceptional attention to detail and highly organized, with the ability to prioritize and balance workloadsSelf-directed problem solver who takes the initiative to start projects, work unsupervised, complete tasks independently, solve roadblocks, and address issues before they become problemsWillingness to learn new software and hardware, as well as staying up to date with industry trends and emerging IT technologyAbility to work Monday Friday, PST time zoneMust have a quiet, designated work space and access to high-speed internet (minimum 200Mbps d/l, 10 Mbps u/l)Please note, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorshipAll offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a background checkCompany OverviewZBeta is a world-class strategic physical security and system design firm.
