Description:

We're seeking an experienced Linux Systems Engineer with broad skills for monitoring hardware in compliance with security requirements as well as maintaining a variety of applications used to support infrastructure operations. The candidate will assist with supporting a larger team of developers, engineers, and analysts all charged with expanding, operating, and maintaining information systems built upon hundreds of Linux instances on virtualized and bare metal hardware. The team is responsible for Linux system build automations, network architecture and implementation, cyber security, and deployment of subsystems.

Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship Mandatory: Due to our US federal government contract, candidates for this position are required to be a US Citizen and will be subject to a background investigation.
• Must possess an active Top Secret US Government Security Clearance.
• 5+ years of experience as a Linux System Engineer/Administrator
• Proficiency in Red Hat Linux/Unix environments
• Experience with VMware administration
• Scripting skills for system administration and file management
• Security engineering experience
• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Eagerness to learn new technologies
• Experience with on-prem server and storage hardware provisioning, installation and maintenance from vendors such as HPE and Dell.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with USG security compliance processes
• Security certifications (Security+ or CISSP)
• Familiarity with Puppet and/or Ansible
• Familiarity with Apache NiFi
• Familiarity with source code control tools
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, etc.)
• Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE)
• Experience with storage deployment (Pure Storage, etc.)
• Experience with monitoring tools (Grafana, Elastic)
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL)
• Proficiency with Windows Server administration

Education and Experience:

Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, plus 5 years of experience is desired.
