MILITARY VETERANS
National food manufacturer wants to hire a Veteran as a Maintenance Mechanic at their local facility. A strong candidate should be able to accomplish the following tasks:
Responsibilities:
- Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
- Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machines.
- Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
- Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery and equipment.
- Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers, breakers, switches, receptacles, wiring, and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Repair and maintain the physical structure of equipment.
- Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment.
Work environment:
- Fast-paced work environment with, in and around industrial machinery.
- Working with material handling equipment daily.
- Cold storage environment. Production rooms are kept at a constant 32 degrees (and below in certain areas). Ability to withstand cold storage temperatures for extended periods of time.
- Noise level varies and at times and can be loud.
Job requirements:
- Prefer experience with forklift electrical systems, mechanic, and hydraulic systems.
- Proven ability to use basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to work occasional to frequent overtime.
- Ability to read and take direction in English.
- Must be capable of becoming certified to operate equipment.
$25 - $32 per hour, overtime, full benefits, 401k and Personal Time Off (PTO) available.
