Reporting to the Cast House Manager of the Carthage, TN Manufacturing facility, we are actively seeking a results-oriented Assistant Cast House Manager with strong leadership skills to be responsible for leading an experienced team of well-established contributors in an aluminum direct chill casting and extrusion industry.
The Assistant Cast House Manager will focus on the day-to-day activities of the Cast House in safely producing quality aluminum logs and billets with a least cost mindset while maintaining proper inventory levels to support the Extrusion Department. Additional responsibilities will include being a part of and/or leading continuous improvement activities within the department.
This is a growth position to Cast House Manager in 1-4 years.
The Ideal Candidate will:
- Have a working knowledge of safety processes and programs to continually improve department safety performance. Will also investigate and correct conditions which lead to accidents and incidents.
- Have knowledge of quality systems and processes to help drive consistent performance to standards and specifications of products produced.
- Have a working knowledge of Cast House operations that will include, Direct Chill Casting, molten metal processing, dross removal & processing, alloying heats, and developing heat recipes to attain chemistry specifications.
- Communicate, collaborate, and resolve issues involving Quality, manufacturing priorities within internal departments including Manufacturing/Operations, and Scheduling.
What You'll Need to Have:
- Associate or Bachelor level degree in design, engineering, technical engineering, operations, or a related field. Will consider strong related experience in lieu of degree.
- 2-5 years of technical and managerial experience in a melting, casting, and finishing operation.
- Knowledge of personal computing software (i.e., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to effectively multitask.
- Lean Six Sigma knowledge preferred.
- Eligible to work in the U.S. without Sponsorship.
