Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Desktop Support Engineer to join our small IT team. The Desktop Support Engineer will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to our organization's desktop, laptop, and mobile device users. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting abilities, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and assistance to end-users via phone, email, chat, or in-person
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices
  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows desktop operating systems, software applications, and utilities
  • Collaborate with the IT team to deploy software updates, patches, and security enhancements
  • Set up and configure new desktop, laptop, and mobile devices for users
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Microsoft Entra ID (Azure) and Active Directory
  • Maintain accurate records of support tickets, resolutions, and inventory of hardware and software assets
  • Manage on-boarding and off-boarding of employee technology
  • Assist with IT projects, such as hardware refreshes, software upgrades, and system migrations
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in desktop support and IT service management


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Proven experience as a Desktop Support Engineer or similar role in an enterprise environment
  • Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems (Windows, iOS) and productivity software (Microsoft Office)
  • Experience with desktop hardware components, troubleshooting techniques, and diagnostic tools
  • Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  • Proficiency in Active Directory, Entra ID, and remote management tools
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) are a plus
  • Some local travel will be required


Qualifications:
  • Experience with Intune for desktop and mobile device management (MDM) solutions.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and ConnectWise remote access for incident and request management.
