Job Overview

The technician is responsible for various tasks in support of the company, both in-house and at customer sites..

The position includes extensive hands-on work, including but not limited to the assembly, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of machine vision equipment, primarily in the logistics industry.

Successful candidates will have experience in hands-on mechanical and technical disciplines of work, as well as knowledge of PCs and PC hardware/software.

This position can be located in any U.S. State, with the ability to travel as needed to our Head Office located in Louisville, Kentucky, and will include travel (up to 100%) to job-sites in the United States and Canada.

Role Responsibilities

  • Conduct equipment installation (electrical and computer), vendor trials, start-up, and commissioning activities for machine vision equipment, primarily in the logistics industry.
  • Test and troubleshoot equipment to identify and eliminate problems prior to and during online trials to confirm readiness for sortation.
  • Investigate performance issues, determine root cause, and develop permanent countermeasures
  • Provide training to onsite maintenance on specification and operation of new equipment
  • Check drawings provided by mechanical and electrical designers for accuracy and provide feedback for corrections as needed.
  • Traveling to customers' business.

Role Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in technical field, with emphasis on mechanical application.
  • Ability to travel up to 100% (based on scheduled projects) within the United States and Canada, while meeting site vaccination requirements.
  • Detailed oriented, with the ability to keep clear notes/documentation.
  • Electrical knowledge: able to read wiring diagrams, test/troubleshoot electrical wiring, and solder electrical connections
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented
  • Participate in rotating 24/7 hotline service support
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a (sometimes) physically-demanding environment
  • Able to learn new tasks quickly and sometimes on-the-job
  • Understanding of PC configuration and installation

Desired Skills

2 years technical degree, technical certifications, or military/technician experience equivalent.
