Sr. Algorithm Developer
Focused on Geospatial Algorithms (Active TS/SCI w/ CI Polygraph) On-Site and Remote Work - Hybrid Position

C-Star supports our customers with advanced intelligence analysis to aid analysts, the warfighters and decision makers. You will be supporting a team in Springfield, VA located at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. This position is full-time on-site and a Top Secret Clearance with SCI access is required. There is some allowance for remote work on a case by case basis, but no more than 1-2 days a week.

As a Senior Algorithm Developer, you will be working with geospatial imagery algorithms from other teams to evaluate and work on coding modules to extend it if needed based on customer requests or improvements needed. You will also be implementing methods in cloud environments to a blend of data science skills (remote sensing, physics, geospatial, imagery process, etc) and computer science understanding is a plus for this position. You will be part of a team environment helping to improve ways for analysts to produce foundational GEOINT products, the analyst is your customer. Your goal is to work with them to improve their workflows through tools, algorithms, and image data quality improvements. We focus on growing as a team, so we'll share techniques, work through challenges, and develop new methodologies together. Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Image processing and analysis with satellite imagery including spectral (MSI, HSI) radar or Lidar and EOIR.
  • Algorithm development, deep learning, python coding or other coding experience in MatLab or IDL.
  • Work with cloud computing environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Experience with Docker, R, Python, Git, and Java.
  • Background or experience that provides a good understanding of statistics
  • Some familiarity with geospatial data formats and representation schemes
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • HS diploma or GED and 19+ years of experience in data science or computer science OR Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of experience in computer science or related science field OR Master's degree and 9+ years of experience in computer science or related science field
  • Be a self learner, self starter and have the ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment with multiple projects on going and potential changes in priorities putting some tasks higher up and putting some on the backburner to resume later.
Preferred Experience
  • Work with high performance compute environments, clusters or related research and experience with bash programming and slurm or PBS.
  • Experience with linux and windows operating systems.
  • Experience building data science tools in Python using popular libraries like numpy, scipy, pandas, Anaconda environments, etc.
