Overview:

Steelworx Industrial Group, LLC. is looking for a highly motivated and experienced General Plant Manager to join their industrial client's team.


Our company is a dynamic and forward-thinking organization that values safety, efficiency, and teamwork. As a General Production Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facility and contribute to our clients overall success.


The General Production Manager will be responsible for directing and training supervisors in various aspects of production, including paperwork, yields, time and attendance, discipline, motivation, turnover, absenteeism, safety, and problem-solving. This role is accountable for performance, safety, quality, workers compensation, turnover, bid movement, Team Member morale, and other duties as needed.


Key Responsibilities:


Production Oversight:

  • Check daily production orders to ensure fulfillment of customer orders.
  • Ensure every position is filled before the start-up of the production line.
  • Oversee Team Member morning exercises and job rotation to facilitate ergonomics.
  • Ensure all machinery is performing to the highest standard possible.
  • Ensure all workstations have passed USDA Inspection.

Safety and Quality:

  • Promote safety daily and conduct monthly safety meetings.
  • Ensure accurate shipments, rotation of inventory, and proper coding of products.
  • Communicate company benefits and compensation policies to Team Members.

Team Building and Leadership:

  • Provide encouragement to Team Members to build the best team possible.
  • Perform human relations functions, including training, retaining, and counseling on personal and professional problems.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors to solve processing problems.

Record Keeping and Education:

  • Keep records of reworked or returned products.
  • Provide continuous education on the importance of quality.

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 5 years in a manufacturing environment or poultry, with prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Two years of employment in protein manufacturing or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with processing floor operations is a plus.
  • HACCP certification is a plus; understanding of basic HACCP principles and the ability to perform CCP monitoring verification.
  • Knowledge of fresh meats processing is a plus.

Education:

  • High school diploma; education beyond high school, including special training, vocational school, and/or college courses, is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to access all areas of the production floor to conduct audits and inspections (fixed ladders, stairs, steps, etc.).
  • Able to tolerate environmental conditions in the area of responsibility; the temperature in most areas ranges from 28 - 45 degrees.

Computer Skills:

  • Basic computer skills are helpful.

Communication Skills:

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Able to communicate with all levels of management.

Special Skills:

  • Team leader with problem-solving abilities and motivation to take on special projects.

Supervisory:

  • Responsible for all Production Operations at the facility, including managing all production supervisors, department production schedules, product rotation, CCP verification schedules, and overseeing the safety committee.
  • Includes responsibility to review team members in these roles and develop improvement plans for deficient areas.

Travel:

  • Some travel required as needed.

Ability to Relocate:


  • Vernon, CA 90058: Relocate before starting work (Required)
