**Description**
Department: Plant
Job Title: Loader
Reports to: Yard Supervisor
**Responsibilities**
* Operate equipment in a safe manner.
* Inspect all packages and report any deficiencies, missing bundle tags and any other quality problems.
* Perform daily maintenance checklist for the forklift.
* Load trucks promptly and properly according to shipping documents.
* Pull finished product from the plant production lines and store the material in the yard according to company procedures.
* Load trucks and store material to ensure proper stock rotation.
* Re-strap any broken bundles in the yard.
* Participate in monthly inventory counts.
* Turn in daily equipment checklist, report any safety or mechanical issues with the equipment.
* Ensure general cleanliness and tidiness of the yard and equipment.
* Work as assigned during yard clean up.
* All other duties as assigned by the Yard Supervisor and/or Plant Manager.
**Requirements**
* Knowledge of plant and yard safety policies and procedures.
* The ability to qualify for and pass testing for forklift licensing.
* Reasonable appearance and good customer relation skills.
* The ability to read and comprehend all shipping related documents.
* Knowledge of all product bundle configurations and weights.
* Ability to distinguish product colours and colour blends.
* Knowledge of load limitations as they pertain to total weight on a truck or trailer.
