**Role Summary:**
The Environmental Health and Safety Assistant Manager leads efforts to ensure the health and safety of all team members. This role involves implementing improvements to achieve world-class safety and environmental performance and overseeing proactive measures to minimize workplace hazards.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Establish and manage safety committees to enhance team involvement.
- Develop and conduct comprehensive EH&S training programs.
- Drive communication initiatives to foster a robust safety culture.
- Lead regular workplace inspections to identify and address hazards.
- Provide technical expertise during accident investigations and change management processes.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and manage related programs.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor s degree in safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or equivalent.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management and problem-solving.
- Thorough understanding of safety, training, and worker s compensation practices.
**Additional Skills and Abilities:**
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven track record in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of safety systems and practices preferred.
- Proficiency in project management and problem-solving.
**Physical Demands:**
The role may require occasional lifting and movement of up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities and hearing are necessary for reading, writing, and communication.
**Work Environment:**
The work environment may include exposure to moving mechanical parts and varying noise levels.
