BIM Technician must be technically proficient in 2D and 3D modeling software for architectural rendering. This position will be responsible for the creation and development of digital architectural drawings for construction supporting a variety of architectural projects. Post-graduate technical architectural work experience is required.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Uses computer-aided drafting software (Revit and CAD) to create full scale and detailed architectural designs of buildings and interiors for new construction, renovation, and adaptive reuse projects.
  • Conducts site planning and zoning research.
  • Studies building codes and regulations to determine the affect on architectural designs.
  • Provide code review based on FGI and Life Safety Code.
  • Participates in planning, zoning, or municipal meetings.
  • Organizes structural, electrical, and mechanical designs.
  • Develops and draws architectural plans and details for foundations, buildings, and structures.
  • Create healthcare planning design concepts.
  • Crafts technical solutions for project designs.
  • Determines the type of materials needed and calculates the quantity.
  • Generates cost projections and budget estimates.
  • Competent project time and expense documentation recording.
  • Preparation of bid packages.
  • Perform construction administration tasks, including submittal review, fieldwork, and documentation.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with project team, consultants, and clients.
  • Maintains and complies with Hobbs+Black and client project standards.


Education and Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Computer-Aided Drafting required.
  • 6+ years of professional technical architectural work experience is required.
  • Excellent technical knowledge and proficiency in the development, coordination, and review of architectural construction drawings and documentation.
  • Extensive technical proficiency in Revit.
  • Technical proficiency in Architectural CAD.
  • Technical problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in building codes and ADA requirements.
  • Expertise in healthcare planning best practices.
  • Ability to coordinate MEP and mechanical equipment consultant work in healthcare environments.
  • Knowledge of the architectural construction administration process.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Efficient time management skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams.
  • Must be able to appear in-office 3 days each week.
