What You Will Do

As the Director, Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting, you will be responsible for remaining current with emerging trends and relevant legislation that impact accounting and financial reporting. Provide accounting and SOX oversight, including assessing, communicating, and implementing accounting guidance and pronouncements. Collaborate cross-functionally, pursue continuous improvement, foster a culture of innovation, exhibit exceptional time management proficiency, and identify, lead, and drive process improvements.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • TECHNICAL EXPERTISE in accounting and external reporting including understanding of US GAAP & SEC regulations. Manage the preparation of the Company s internal and external financial statements, including reporting efforts to the SEC on Forms 10K, 10Q, and 8K, ensuring compliance with US GAAP. Function as a subject matter expert for complex accounting issues, provide guidance cross-functionally, and resolve reporting issues, including interpreting technical accounting proposals and pronouncements, and drafting related memorandums
  • TECHNICAL EXPERTISE in policy, controls and compliance design including SOX requirements - support the internal control environment over financial reporting including control design, execution, and remediation as necessary
  • BUSINESS ACUMEN and understanding of our business and finance beyond the accounting and external reporting scope
  • LEADERSHIP SKILLS of partnering and communicating cross-functionally to drive timely and accurate results. Establish strong working relations with both internal and external auditors related to quarterly review, annual audits, and internal control testing
  • GROWTH/DIGITAL MINDSET and the ability to identify strategic opportunities and leverage technology to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness. Work to ensure standardization of processes and adoption of "best practices" across locations. Drive process improvement in global accounting close and reporting processes, working with IT to leverage technology where applicable.

What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor s degree in accounting, finance and/or related field of study.
  • CPA licensed (active)
  • Minimum of 8+ years of related work experience at a public accounting firm (Big 4 preferred) and/or a large, multi-national, publicly held corporation. Consumer-packaged goods (CPG) experience highly desirable
  • Progressive experience coaching and managing a team
  • Deep technical knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements and SOX requirements, including experience researching and concisely documenting technical accounting matters
  • Strong critical thinking and intuitive problem-solving skills
  • Strong sense of urgency, collaborative, and consultative
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to succeed in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex accounting and reporting issues to diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint advanced Excel skills highly desirable. Familiarity with general ledger applications, accounting and SEC reporting tools is a plus
