We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our Silicon Crystal Growth Equipment team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of silicon crystal growers. You will be assembling and installing pumps, compressors, electrical motors, gearboxes, gas panels, and performing equipment alignment and leveling and other equipment installation activities. You will also be assisting in equipment startup, commissioning, and performing daily troubleshooting and maintenance of the equipment as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform installations, repairs, and preventive maintenance of silicon crystal growers and subsystems: Mechanical systems, Gas Panels, Pneumatics, Vacuum Systems, PLC, etc.
- Understand and follow mechanical drawings
- Debug electrical control circuits and/or mechanical equipment functions
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and breakdowns to identify and implement corrective actions
- Work in a safe manner and adhere to all applicable company safety guidelines
- Collaborate with Process and Equipment Engineering teams
Desired Qualifications
- An associate degree in electro-mechanics or related technical discipline with vocational/technical training, or equivalent experience
- Experience in reading mechanical drawings
- Experience installing vacuum systems, electric motors, and industrial equipment
- Experience with leveling and aligning industrial equipment
- Experience with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
- Ability to learn and understand electro-mechanical systems
- Proficient in the use of small manual and power tools
- Working knowledge of computers including Windows and Microsoft applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication and team skills
- Experience with PLC hardware and software is desired
- Experience with semiconductor equipment is desired
