**JOB SUMMARY:**

The Warehouse Coordinator (WC) position requires a high level of organization and energy, a calm demeanor and a level head for handling a variety of challenges as they arise in a fast-paced environment. This key position is critical to the success of our food programs and requires oversight of food procurement, inventory management and distribution for multiple programs. The WC works with hundreds of volunteers to facilitate the smooth operations of The Hunger Coalition as a food safety net and community center. This position is responsible for the cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse. The WC reports directly to the Program Manager and coordinates with several other staff.

**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:**

Has bilingual (Spanish/English) communication skills.

Has 1-2 years of warehouse, grocery store, purchasing or similar experience or education.

Works well with persons of varied sexual preference, gender identity, racial, ethnic, cultural, socioeconomic backgrounds, and with individuals who are differently-abled.

Has personal experience with food insecurity or a commitment to social justice and/or community service through previous employment and/or volunteer experience.

Is willing to embrace and work to improve a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion, which is central to the work we do.

Has strong leadership skills and creativity while directing diverse groups of individuals. Enjoys working with people and managing volunteers.

Is highly organized, motivated and can remain flexible and under pressure. Attention to detail and ability to set priorities is essential.

Is capable of working independently with limited supervision.

Can repeatedly and safely lift heavy boxes and work in extreme weather conditions on a daily basis.

Has a drivers license, clean driving record and is comfortable with driving large vans and learning how to operate a forklift.

Has solid knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet/inventory software, online ordering systems, database functions along with ability to navigate and use the Internet for research.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:**

**Teamwork & Professionalism -** This position is a leadership position and the face of our organization to many volunteers and community members.

Stay in contact with coworkers. It is very important to keep teammates on the same page and organized to successfully facilitate three weekly food distributions.

Coordination between multiple food programs requires clear communication with others.

Maintain strong integrity when unsupervised and be a role model for volunteers. Keep a to do list that can engage community members to help.

Manage several volunteers at a time as they assist with basic warehouse activities such as stocking, packing orders.

Fill 2 weekly front desk shifts per week and support programs in general as required.

**Food Procurement & Tracking -** Coordinate inventory and outgoing food. Making sure the right food is going to the right program while staying within budget is a very important part of this role.

Procure food from a variety of sources, including paid vendors, rescued food from grocery stores, food drives and donations efficiently

Track invoices and pounds of food for the Healthy Food Pantry and other programs as needed.

Track 1+ substantial budget.

Pick up food orders from local vendors and unload/rotate inventory to reduce waste.

**SALARY, HOURS & BENEFITS:**

40 hours/week. Mon, Thurs 8:30am-6:30pm with some scheduling flexibility to fill remaining hours between 9-5 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays. Salary range: $49,920-$54,080 DOE. Benefits include flexible, fun working environment.
