RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Perform systematic citation analysis of the journal collection to determine which titles support the organization s research programs today, and those which are no longer required
  • Conduct bibliometric and usage studies by analyzing raw data from Counter Reports from various electronic publishing sites and the library s electronic resource management system
  • Conduct Research Impact Analyses on the same datasets used for citation analysis in various research fronts to determine the organizational impact on science, utilizing data analysis tools and complex biologic research to correctly infer trends regarding scientific publishing from both scientists and datasets
  • Use a variety of customized bibliometric products to support service, including leveraging various databases such as Web of Science and PubMed
  • Review access to electronic journal titles; identifying, troubleshooting, and reporting problems with electronic access
  • Perform periodic reviews of electronic holdings for accuracy.
  • Provide reference desk coverage and assist with circulation and re-shelving of materials
  • Generate weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual statistics and reports related to library resource and service usage
  • Periodically check, submit help tickets, and assist patrons with library computers, printers, and scanners
  • Make suggestions for strategic plan and collection development policy, based on user interviews
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures and make recommendations for the creation of a modern and collaborative information center
  • Perform cataloging and processing of materials


REQUIREMENTS:


  • ALA-Accredited Masters Degree in Library Science
  • Website administration experience
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills a must
  • Experience performing research involving biomedical information
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to access or shelve collection items and microfilm
  • Ability to carry up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to push and pull objects on wheels weighing 60 to 80 pounds
  • US Citizenship required


Preferred:


  • SharePoint experience
  • LibGuide experience
  • Experience with Adobe Captivate
  • Experience with EndNote, Web of Science, Scopus, and ProQuest Dialog
  • Experience with EZproxy
  • Experience with instructional design and adult learning best practices
  • Experience with emerging technologies in libraries (3D printers, makerspaces, etc.) a plus
  • Experience with bibliometrics (using Scopus, SciVal, Web of Science, etc.) a plus
