Job Title: Plumbing Assembler Level 1

SUMMARY:

Plumbing Assemblers assist in the building of the pump for the fire trucks.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

Install heat exchanger not already installed with value

Install master drain

Install primer control

Install manual pump shift

Install discharges, R&L rear and front bumpres

Install bleeder drains

Install auto drains

Tack weld pipes as needed to complete installation

Connect lines to gauge panel

Install tank level sight tube

Connect tank to pump

Connect tank refill hose

Mount hose reel

Self-check work

Meet production goals

Maintain a clean and safe work area

Initiate process improvements when able

Work in close proximity to customer, as needed

Operate any equipment or tools needed to perform the job

Assist other team members and departments as needed

Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent experience

Recent certification for welding code ASTM B31.3 desirable

Ability to use basic hand and power tools

Demonstrated pipefitting knowledge and skills

Ability to use MIG welder and plasma cutter on stainless steel

Vocational training in MIG welding or equivalent experience, minimum one year experience

Effective use of conventional and precision measuring instruments

Ability to read and use a tape measure to precise measurements

Ability to work in a team environment

Ability to maintain attendance within company guidelines

Ability to retain and apply instructions

Positive attitude

Work overtime on short notice

Embrace change

Basic computer skills

Basic math skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

Must be detailed orientated

Ability to read and understand truck specification documents

Ability to communicate and understand in English

Ability to work within safety guidelines

Must be self-motivated

Must be able to work with little to no supervision after two weeks
