Position Summary: The DCCC is hiring a Distributed Texting Manager for the 2024 election cycle. This person will design, implement, and oversee the DCCC's first national distributed texting program, working closely with the National Distributed Director and other members of the Organizing Leadership Team. Ideal candidates for this position will be strong and creative managers of people and programs who are excited about doing something that hasn't been done.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Hire and manage a Distributed Texting Coordinator.
  • Develop strong relationships with other departments as well as external partners; build internal and external systems and structures to support the organizing team.
  • Directs the distributed P2P texting strategy, working, in conjunction with the National Distributed Director and National Organizing Teams to set and define goals, and design, implement, execute the committee's P2P national texting program to key Congressional districts.
  • Manages the P2P SMS calendar, making sure campaigns are built and sent with every conversation closed, iterating approaches to messaging and training to adapt to emerging needs.
  • Design and execute texting experiments to improve the impact of the texting program
  • Develops and implements the texting volunteer journey; working to define the process and pipeline by which volunteers join the program to begin texting and taking on volunteer leadership roles within the campaign's texting team.
  • Directs the Distributed Text Coordinator to build processes and structures to recruit, train, and manage teams of volunteer leaders to ensure volunteer texters have high quality conversations with both supporters and potential supporters.
  • Other responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
  • 2+ cycles of organizing experience (electoral, issue orgs, labor, etc) and 1-2 cycles of staff management experience is preferred.
  • Comfortability with predictive dialer technology, peer-to-peer texting tools, and relational organizing tools.
  • Experience building and managing a distributed volunteer program on a statewide race is strongly preferred.
  • Experience putting together a volunteer training program curriculum virtually and using digital tools to manage a volunteer network.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
