Perinatal Mental Health Therapist (Remote)
Are you interested in working in Black Maternal Health? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to provide perinatal mental health counseling. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will provide counseling services to individuals with various perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Your role will involve working with people suffering from Postpartum Depression, Postpartum Anxiety, Postpartum OCD, Perinatal loss, and non perinatal mental health . This position is 100% remote/ online. Candidates posess - Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field. A Valid license or certification as a LGSW, LGPC, LCPC, LCSW, LICSW in DC and/or Maryland
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' mental health needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide clinical counseling and psychotherapy to clients using evidence-based practices
- Utilize behavior management techniques to support clients in managing challenging behaviors
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation within 24-72 hours
- Stay informed about current research and best practices in the field of mental health
Experience:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
- Valid license or certification as a LGSW, LGPC, LCSW, LICSW in DC and/or Maryland
- Experience working with perinatal mental health and Black maternal Health population
- Knowledge of DSM5 diagnostic codes and ability to accurately diagnose mental health conditions
- Familiarity with Interpersonal Psychotherapy techniques and their application in a clinical setting
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport with clients of all ages
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
