Job Description

The Network Administrator leads personnel and teams to ensure that the organization s computer systems and networks remain secure and reliable. You will act as the highest point of escalation for all IT related technical issues. This role will be responsible for managing the use of wide area networks (WANs), local area networks (LANs), organization-specific networks, and storage area networks (SANs). You will be responsible for monitoring network availability and collecting data to enhance security and reliability. You will also be responsible for server administration and upkeep including patching and security of servers both virtual and physical. Other duties would include phone system/telephony administration as well as support of security related systems such IP cameras and NVR/DVRs. You will be required to take a high degree of ownership of current projects and initiatives that pertain to the improvement of the overall IT infrastructure of the company ensure forward momentum of these initiatives and projects to completion. You must be able to transform company stakeholder feedback and requests into real world technology solutions.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Experience with Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems
  • Experience with Windows Server Operating Systems (2016 through 2022)
  • Understanding of TCP/IP and troubleshooting network connectivity
  • Experience with network segmentation and VLANS
  • Experience with different routing protocols and network transport methods
  • Experience with Next Generation Firewalls and using them to secure the network
  • Experience with VMWare virtualization products
  • Experience with endpoint protection and security software
  • Understanding of DNS and DHCP services
  • Configure file, print, VPN, and other remote access services
  • Backup & Replication administration
  • Ability to quickly learn recent technologies through the use of self-study materials and intuition
  • Any other duties specified by I.T. Director


Special abilities, required skills, or education needed to perform the essential job functions: Bachelor's Degree in related technology field and/or 3-5 years of real-world job experience in a small to medium size enterprise environment. Certifications Preferred in CompTIA A+, Comp TIA Network+, CompTIA Server+, Cisco CCNA, any Microsoft certifications dealing with Microsoft 365, any VMWare Data Center Virtualization certifications. Familiarity with Java, SQL, and IBM Power I a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point). Good written and verbal communications skills. Ability to work independently or as a team. Desire to learn new things and grow professionally.
