**FACILITIES ATTENDANT**

**PART-TIME**

**POSITION SUMMARY**

The mission of Mountain Park Church is to invite the distracted and disinterested to realize their role in Gods story. The Facilities Attendant walks out this mission by managing the MPC facilities in a manner that honors God and represents His character to our community. This includes providing physical environments for kids, students, and adults that is clean, safe, and comfortable. The Facilities Attendant cares for our new 48,000 square foot facility and performing setup and teardown, basic building maintenance, and basic housekeeping/custodial duties.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

Customer Service

* Provide excellent customer service as the onsite point person for all group meetings to ensure all set up is correct, everything is in working condition, air climate is adjusted as needed and any other needs are met

Events Set-Up/Teardown (approximately 70%)

* Set up and tear down for meetings, special events, and weekend events to include but not limited to setting up and removing of tables, chairs, linens and any other equipment used (such as TV, DVD, Roku, flip charts, etc.)

* Wipe down surfaces, remove trash from various rooms inside the building and place in proper receptacle and ensure all furniture supplies are put away

* Wash and maintain linens

* Ensure facility is locked and secured after evening group meetings and events

* Provide security to MPC as needed during meetings and events and ensure compliance and enforce facility safety and security plans

Building Maintenance (approximately 20%)

* Provide building maintenance as needed such as painting, minor electrical and plumbing repairs, replacing light bulbs, replacing air filters and other minor repairs

* Keep and maintain maintenance logs and records

* Opening and closing of the facility as needed

* Care and maintenance of grounds, parking lots, landscaping and building exterior

* Assist as needed with volunteer Crisis Response Team

* Assist with scheduling and coordinating the use of volunteers to assist in building maintenance as needed

* Maintain all equipment and all tools to keep in great working condition

* Run errands as necessary

Housekeeping/Custodian (approximately 10%)

* Provide housekeeping/custodian support throughout the week as needed

* Maintain a clean and orderly building to include but not limited to sweeping, mopping floors, emptying trash, wiping counters, dusting, cleaning windows, cleaning and stocking bathrooms , cleaning and maintaining kitchen, and assisting with emergency cleanup

* Provide custodial services for special events

* Maintain custodial supplies and equipment

* Provide additional housekeeping support to the children/preschool area to include but not limited to sanitizing all surfaces, play areas and structures; cleaning and stocking childrens restrooms; cleaning windows and mirrors; sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors; and setting up classrooms and large group areas for Sunday services and any additional events and programs

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education/Experience**

* High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

* Essential Experience

+ Willingness to work hard with a positive attitude

+ Flexible schedule to meet the needs of the church to include evenings and weekends and special events

* Preferred Experience

+ 1-3 years of previous building maintenance experience

+ 1-3 years of previous housekeeping/custodial experience

+ Previous experience working for a church or large facility

+ Skilled and experienced in recruiting and leading volunteers

+ Previous experience in a trade such as carpentry, electricity, plumbing or landscaping

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND/OR ABILITY**

* Knowledge of basic custodian materials and equipment

* Ability to make minor repairs to building and equipment

* Knowledge of or ability to learn OSHA requirements and laws

* Able to operate small machinery and tools

* Proficient computer skills, experience with or ability to learn Mac software

* Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

* Effective communicator and relationship building skills

* Excellent customer service skills

* Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously under time constraints

* Dependable, responsible and self-motivated

* Ability to make independent decisions and work with minimal supervision

* Ability to reach, bend, stoop, kneel and stand for extended periods of time. Frequent climbing ladders is required

* Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and to have complete mobility in building and grounds
