The Center for Rural Engagement communications media intern will use written and visual assets to tell the story of rural Indiana and IU's collaboration with communities in the region.
*Job Summary*
The Center for Rural Engagement multimedia design intern will use print and digital media to tell the story of rural Indiana and IU's collaboration with communities in the region.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
* Creates original written stories and features that capture campus and community initiatives.
* Composes written and visual content into web-based story features.
* Conducts background information gathering, photography and videography, and interviews of story subjects, which may involve in-state travel.
* Completes other duties as assigned.

* Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

* Possess a valid driver's license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University
SKILLS

* Knowledge of graphic design concepts and best practices
* Strong organizational and analytical skills
* Strong writing and communication skills

* Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, digital photography/videography and project management systems
*Working Conditions / Demands*
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

10-15 hours per week depending on project volume
